Cycle Friendly Campus Internships to get more people cycling
10th October 2017
With the support of Transport Scotland, and in partnership with Bright Green Business, Cycling Scotland is delighted to run the Cycle Friendly Campus Internship Programme for a second year.
Building on the success of last year, the programme will mobilise cycling projects across Scottish colleges and universities with the support of a paid intern. Interns will take on the role of Campus Cycling Officer delivering a range of cycling activities which aim at getting more students and staff travelling by bicycle.
These part-time placements will run for from August 2017 until June 2018 and interns will be participant in Bright Green Business’ Environmental Placement Programme (EPP).
The placements are paid at the Scottish Living Wage and sponsored by Cycling Scotland. They will operate a 3 day, 21 hour week over 43 weeks.
Cycling Scotland will provide support during recruitment and throughout the placement for host campus and intern.
"The support makes a significant difference to the range of cycling activities we are able to deliver at the University of West of Scotland, including led cycle rides, cycle training, night, electric bike showcases and inspirational keynote speaker events. Our ambition is to achieve Cycle Friendly Campus. With the support of Cycling Scotland we are confident that this will be realised in 2017.”
