Registrations open for Cycling Scotland Conference 2021

Join us online on Thursday 4th November to explore the theme of “Working together to overcome inequalities, make our roads safer and help us face the climate emergency”.
Registrations for Cycling Scotland’s Conference are now open. The annual conference brings together best practice and learning within Scotland and beyond, to support and increase cycling.
Our keynote speakers:
- Minister for Zero Carbon Buildings, Active Travel and Tenants' Rights - Patrick Harvie MSP
- Advisor to the Deputy Mayor of Paris - Adrien Sartre
- Vice President of the World Cycling Alliance - Amanda Ngabirano
- CEO of Public Health Scotland - Angela Leitch
The conference will be chaired by Alastair Dalton, Transport Correspondent at The Scotsman.

In addition to the keynote speakers, afternoon breakout sessions will offer the opportunity to hear a range of speakers, presentations and Q&A sessions.
The Cycling Champions of the Year Awards will be presented during the conference to the individuals and organisations that have left a lasting impression on cycling in Scotland during the last year.
Each year the conference attracts a wide range of delegates including national and local active travel organisations, local authorities, national politicians, campaigners and many others involved in aspects of cycling from the public, private and third sector. Virtual networking opportunities will be offered throughout the day.
Previous speakers at Cycling Scotland Conferences have included experts from around the world invested in creating cycling friendly cultures:
- In 2020, Head of Crime and Investigation at Lincolnshire Police, DCS Andy Cox, outlined how the Met Police used camera footage to tackle dangerous driving behaviour to work towards Vision Zero.
- Co-founder of Care for Air India, Jyoti Pande Lavakare, gave a presentation in 2020 on cycling and air pollution in India.
- The Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana in Slovenia, Tjasa Ficko, shared cycling friendly developments in her city – including insights on infrastructure, reducing emissions, road safety, and air quality, in 2019.
- In 2018, Reader in Transport at the University of Westminster, Rachel Aldred, shared lessons from her work on close passing and The Near Miss Project.
Tickets for the 2021 Conference cost £25 plus a £2.54 Eventbrite processing fee, and the event will run from 10am – 4pm.
