Play on Pedals

Play on Pedals

Play on Pedals will teach pre-school children  about the parts of a bicycle, how to fit a helmet correctly and the basics of looking after their bikes. Through a series of fun and imaginative activities, they will be helped to develop their balance and control skills, often using a pedal-less balance bike. Play on Pedals has strong links to the curriculum for excellence.

Essential Cycling Skills (ECS) – a suite of resources to help boost the confidence of those new to or returning to cycling and give them the necessary skills to negotiate on-road journeys.

Practical Cycle Awareness Training

Practical Cycle Awareness Training

PCAT will make drivers of LGVs and PCVs aware of the risks that people on bikes experience on the road, to help understand the behaviour of someone cycling and to anticipate how they ride. This course is made up of two modules and counts towards Driver PCP.

This course covers the skills necessary to lead cycle rides on roads and on recognised cycle paths. Rides will usually be aimed at novice or inexperienced cyclists who want to become more active or are interested in exploring their local area by bike.
