The original Pedal for Scotland route and your only chance to cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh on a closed road route.
Is this ride for me?
Yes, this ride is aimed at people of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re an experienced biker, cycle just occasionally or would like to start cycling more, this is the perfect ride for you. You don’t have to wear lycra and go cycling every weekend: the whole idea behind the Classic Challenge is that anyone and everyone can take part. We’ve had some amazing riders who only learned to cycle just months before the event… if they can do it, you can do it too!
Why should I take part?
To challenge yourself and experience the amazing atmosphere with thousands of great people, cycling between Scotland’s two largest cities! It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun and active day out with family, friends or colleagues. If you’d like to, this is a great event to fundraise for a cause you care about.
What can I expect?
An early kick off to the morning as you leave Glasgow Green and follow a well signed and closed road route, while enjoying the beautiful Scottish views. You can take breaks at our rest stops, roughly every ten miles, with refreshments and music. End the ride with hundreds of spectators cheering as you cross the finish line and receive your well-deserved medal.
Prices above exclude a small processing fee.
If you have signed up already with the Standard entry and would like to upgrade to Gold, please login here and use the change category feature.

This is the limited edition, 20th anniversary design. It’s a technical t-shirt for the first time – a light, breathable material that wicks the moisture away from your skin.
It can be ordered during the registration process and will be sent to you with your rider pack prior to the event. Please make sure you check the adult size chart and kids size chart before ordering a t-shirt.
Technical material tends to be a tighter fit, so please choose your size accordingly. Children sizes are a guide based on an average child of the age range listed, so please choose the size accordingly to the measurements provided.
If you've registered already, you can add a t-shirt to your entry here.
Bag transfer and showers
Those are included in the Gold offer or can be added to your entry during registration for £6.
This means you can leave your bag at the start line and pick it up at the finish line and not worry about it while you're enjoying the event. The drop off and pick up areas will be clearly signed on the day and marked on the map in your rider booklet.
Showers will be available at the finish line.
You can purchase a return tram ticket during registration for £3.20. It's valid on the day of the event for use between Edinburgh Haymarket and Ingliston Park & Ride to help you travel to/from the Royal Highland Centre. The ticket will come in your rider pack prior to the event in the form of a wristband.
Edinburgh Trams reserve the right to refuse entry to riders without official Pedal for Scotland Tram tickets on the day.
Where does the route go?
You’ll start the Classic Challenge from Glasgow Green in Glasgow and head east, cycling through the stunning Scottish countryside. With refreshment stops in Drumpellier Country Park, Slammannan and Linlithgow, you can take your time along this relatively flat route and cross the finish line in Edinburgh.
