Pedal Lerwick is a fun, inclusive, free-to-enter cycling event that is suitable for people new to cycling, families and open to everyone! It takes place on 29 August 2021.

If you’re looking for a welcoming, safe and fun cycling environment, this event is for you!
Pedal Lerwick will be set over a flat, safe, one-way loop on closed roads making it completely beginner friendly. The event will be held subject to local public health guidance and protocols.
Why should I take part?
This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy safe cycling in the heart of Lerwick. The ride is completely traffic-free and after the ride, participants can enjoy refreshments, a ‘cycling skills circuit’, entertainment, soft play and games for younger children.
What can I expect?
The event will be based in Lerwick’s largest park, King George V Playing Park. You will follow a route on closed roads in the heart of Lerwick. You will have the choice of adding an optional uphill and downhill section if you would like add a little challenge!
What do I need?
Just your bike, full water bottle and your sense of fun!
There will be a selection of child and adult bikes that can be borrowed for free.
A selection of adapted bikes for adults and children with disabilities and Additional Support Needs will be available to borrow for free, and volunteers will be available to accompany these users where needed.
How much does it cost?
Nothing! Pedal for Scotland events are free-to-enter and inclusive!
You will need to register for the event to take part.
Where does the route go?
Pedal Lerwick starts from King George V Playing Park and follows a closed-road route around the playing park and Flower Park.
