Monitoring cycling in Scotland

false

We report on national cycling rates through a range of monitoring projects.

Annual Cycling Monitoring Report

We report and track changes in national and local cycling data, including the percentage of people cycling to work and school, frequency of cycling, safety, attitudes and access to bikes. The report informs the national picture of cycling in Scotland and is produced with data from, amongst others, Transport Scotland, the Scottish Household Survey and our active travel delivery partners.

Attitudes and behaviours to cycling

We commission independent research to track attitudes towards and behaviours around cycling to better understand motivations and barriers to more people cycling.

National Monitoring Framework (NMF)

The National Monitoring Framework uses fixed counters and temporary cameras to build a picture of cycling rates across the country. Funded by Transport Scotland, we work with partners to use this data to track numbers of people cycling at a local and national level.
