Cycling Scotland jointly organises the Active Travel Conference with our partners Living Streets Scotland, Sustrans Scotland and Paths for All.

The 11th Walking Cycling Connecting Communities National Active Travel Conference took place on 12th June 2019 at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh. Attended by more than 230 delegates, the conference addressed the theme of ‘Widening Access to Active Travel’, examining ways to improve access to active travel, including addressing transport poverty and utilising emerging technology. Delegates had the opportunity to experience a variety of active travel projects and initiatives through a variety of sessions including presentations sessions, interactive workshops and presentation sessions.

The conference was once again hosted by Dougie Vipond and featured a range of interesting and inspiring keynote speakers – Cllr Lesley Macinnes, City of Edinburgh Council Convener for Transport and Environment, Prof Adrian Davis, Professor of Transport and Health at Edinburgh Napier University, Daisy Narayanan, Project Director Edinburgh Transformation, City of Edinburgh Council and Sustrans Scotland, and Scotland’s first Active Nation Commissioner Lee Craigie.

95% of delegates said that they would attend again - we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
