Livingston 20 Milers

1st September 2018         Difficulty: Easy

Monthly free social ride organised by West Lothian Sustrans Volunteers.

We are not a club, rides are open to anyone who may be interested in learning more about bike use and local routes.

The rides are easy to moderate level, with quiet roads, traffic-free paths and gentle gradients favoured in order for the less confident to enjoy the ride as much as those with more experience! If speed and distance are your thing, this is not for you. We will wait on stragglers, help with punctures.

The rides are not suitable for unaccompanied children.

We will be at the cafe at Howden Park Centre, Livingston from just after 10 and leave at 1030am and take route 75 of Sustrans National Cycle Network to Livingston Village, NCN 75 to Starlaw Road cycle path. Continuing on the new link between Starlaw and Boghall roundabout, cycle path to rejoin the NCN 75 into Bathgate.
Stopping at Xcite Bathgate for refreshments, either bring something to eat and drink or buy at the cafe.

Return along NCN 75 across Easter Inch Moss. Turning off at Seafield and dropping down to the river Almond and along the Easter Breich path beside the river, onto the Livington path network and back to HPC.
